As promised here’s my new carpet report, but only a few days late, because, well that’s how I do it around here. At least, when it comes to this blog. Everything else I’m usually at least 15 minutes early for. Because timeliness is important to me. Except here. Sorry.
When my mom got a new table a few years ago, she passed down her old kitchen table. It was in good condition, but only had two chairs left. This has worked fine in our kitchen, because we have limited “eat-in” space and there’s only been 2 of us needing chairs. Whenever we have more family over for dinner, we eat at the dining room table, which fits 6. So anyways, this table was a lighter wood color, and although it wasn’t ever my first choice of color, it was free and it worked. Both are HUGE checks in my box. Lately, though, because I love a project, I decided it was time to spruce the table up. It needed a refresher and so did our kitchen.
The following is basically a smorgasbord of our early days of 2012. It didn’t seem like we had much downtime, but I’m also not exactly sure what we did…anyone ever feel like that? No…just me maybe?
Ok, so to finally wrap up this party…2 months later! Recap – we threw the party in our basement – and actually we had parties. We decided it would be best to divide the partying into sessions, if you will. We knew it would be better for Cohen (and really, everyone) if he got to nap in between and also not have 100 people staring at him…we did the family party first in the afternoon, and then invited friends over in the evening. We loved doing it like this for multiple reasons. One of the best reasons was that our family didn’t have to share Cohen with our friends! Especially those family members that traveled to spend the day with us. It was great that they were able to clock some serious face time with our special birthday boy!

The day started with getting Cohen dressed in his UNO onesie (Tim and I had matching – shirts, not onesies) after a nice nap (Cohen, not us!).
It may seem as though we’ve fallen into a black hole…but I suppose it’s the exact opposite. We’ve been living…a lot. We have been crazy. I realize I got some serious blogging momentum in November, and then the holidays surrounded us, and blogging had to play second fiddle to living…and I’m ok with that. As much as we love sharing, it’s been nice for both of us to take some time away from the computer, and just log some serious hours sitting on the floor, playing with Cohen, hanging out and doing all things Christmas-y!
So bear with me as I backtrack a bit to get you all up to speed to our lives in December! I figured I would start off with my simple and awesome Advent Calendar I made in early December! It was fun and something we all got excited about! We are busy editing photos and all that good stuff from all our other adventures last month. It’s really crazy just how quickly December went. I barely even had time to see it fly past.
